Enquiquineur
Pesky Player
A simple task, an annoying other player. You’re not alone, but wish you were! (Or do you?)
(This is a very simple game/prototype as I discovered the game jam near the end and started late because of my partaking in Mini Jam 113, but I thought the idea was worth a try!)
Made with Love2D.
Controls
- Arrow keys to move
- Mouse to light up the scenery and click on the PAUSE button
- If you lose, you just have to close the application and relaunch if you want to try again.
Made for Brackeys Game Jam 2022.2 with theme ‘You’re not alone’. (Running time: from August 21st 2022 at 12:00 PM to August 28th 2022 at 12:00 PM.)
While ranking and marks are not everything and can be biased, the game still ended up at the 10th position in ‘Innovation’! Glad that people found interest in the concept, which I think is extendable. :) If I find the time, I may turn this prototype into something bigger (either as levels or a more ‘continuous’ whole). Thanks for playing!
Known Bugs
The navigator version seems to have some problems in fullscreen mode:
- The movement keys do not respond on my system (using Firefox);
- The more the real mouse is away from the centre, the more the virtual player’s cursor appears shifted. This is minor and probably due to changing the dimensions.
So, I would recommend not toggling fullscreen on, or using a desktop version.

Install instructions
- If you have Love2D (or want to install it), the .love file is more lightweight and should be usable on all systems (see this).
- macOS version: download the ZIP archive, unzip it, which gives you directly the APP file.
- Windows version: download the ZIP archive, unzip it, and launch the EXE file (without fiddling with the other files).
- There is no proper Linux version because of the variety of distributions, but you can use the .love file. Some instructions are available in the Love2D documentation, in case you need it. (I tried using AppImage, but encountered problems, while getting Love2D is easy, so the current situation is already reasonable.)
